FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HALOSOURCE SIGNS SECOND AGREEMENT WITH UK’S DELAGUA
Seattle, U.S.A. - HaloSource, Inc. (“HaloSource” or “the Company”) (HAL.LN, HALO.LN) the clean water and antimicrobial technology company, today announces that it has signed a further agreement with DelAgua, the UK based water testing organisation. Under the terms of this agreement DelAgua will become an authorised reseller of HaloSource’sHaloPure® drinking water purification devices for point of use, in-home use to the non-governmental organization (NGO) channel and beyond.
This agreement further extends the relationship between the two companies who last year announced an agreement to explore the development of a HaloPure® powered emergency response device to further DelAgua’s support of emergency relief efforts by providing a water treatment product that will remove 99.9% of disease-causing bacteria and viruses present in compromised water supplies under emergency conditions.
DelAgua produces and distributes the Oxfam DelAgua Portable Water Testing Kit, developed in collaboration with international non-governmental organisation (NGO), Oxfam. The kit enables field workers to test water quality in remote and isolated locations, in circumstances where there is no access to a water testing laboratory and is used by all major NGOs and aid agencies in over 130 countries.
HaloPure® devices are powered by USEPA registered HaloPure BR, a unique contact biocide technology that is proven to attack and kill a wide range of harmful microorganisms, including killing pathogens responsible for 85% of the world’s water-borne diseases.
John Kaestle, Chief Executive of HaloSource, commented “We are particularly pleased to appoint DelAgua as an authorized reseller of HaloPure® powered consumer devices in addition to our ongoing work with them in developing products for relief efforts the world over. Being able to provide access to disease-free, safe water without the need for electricity or water pressure makes HaloPure a truly life-changing technology”
James Beaumont, managing director of DelAgua, commented “With up to 5 million people a year dying in the developing world as a result of drinking contaminated water, this new suite of products is a vital tool in improving water quality and health. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Halosource and our development partners in realising DelAgua's ambition to bring pure fresh water to all.”

About HaloSource
HaloSource is a clean water technology company, headquartered in Seattle, US with operations in India and China. It is focused on the provision of cleaner, clearer and safer water using its proprietary N-halamine bead technology to clean and purify water, killing bacteria and viruses that may cause disease.
HaloPure provides safer drinking water. In 2009, it became the first new drinking water technology in 30 years to be granted both Manufacture-For-Use and Device registrations by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), which is widely recognized as having the world's most stringent performance requirements for water purification. HaloPure® is a unique contact biocide technology that is proven to attack and kill a wide range of harmful micro-organisms and is approved for long-term use in a variety of markets, including the United States.
SeaKlear and StormKlear products use a second technology based on natural bio-polymers to provide water clarification and antimicrobial applications for treating recreational and environmental water; and HaloShield facilitates the binding of chlorine-based bleach to textiles such as sheets, lab coats and towels. www.halosource.com
About HaloSource’s Markets
HaloPure products are principally targeted at consumers in emerging market countries, where access to safe drinking water is particularly poor. In an independent analysis of the global Point of Use drinking water device market carried out in 2005, Frost and Sullivan concluded that:
- the market for residential water treatment equipment in China was estimated at $960 million in 2005, growing at an annual rate of 20.4 per cent between 2004 and 2011;
- the market for residential drinking water devices in India was estimated at $425 million in 2009, and experiencing growth of approximately 25 per cent annually; and
- in 2005 the global markets for filtration formats in the form of under-the-sink, counter top and replacement cartridges were growing annually at 20 per cent, 21 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively.
The World Health Organisation has estimated that 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water and the Centre for Disease Control is recommending Point Of Use filtration and disinfection.
ABOUT DELAGUA:
In 1985, the University of Surrey in collaboration with Oxfam developed the Oxfam DelAgua Portable Water Testing Kit. The DelAgua kit enables field workers to test water quality in remote and isolated situations and in circumstances where there is no access to a water testing laboratory. Since its development in 1985, the water testing kit has been used by all the major international NGOs and other aid agencies in over 130 countries around the world and is recognised as the kit of choice in the aid agency community.
In 2006, the University of Surrey and other investors founded DelAgua Water Testing Limited to take over the management of the DelAgua organisation and to invest in a series of improvements in its core water testing products.
