HaloKlear LMF-3001™ is a liquid-metal salt blend used to clarify wastewater from drilling operations and aid in oil & gas wastewater recovery. The solution can be used in hazardous waste minimization and the beneficial re-use of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials in reclamation and recycling efforts. LMF-3001 is an aluminum-free and iron-free alternative to commodity chemicals, such as aluminum sulfate (alum), polyaluminum chloride (PAC), ferric or ferrous chloride, and other chemicals traditionally used in oil & gas wastewater treatment operations.
 
LMF-3001 offers up to 90% water reclamation and recycling, where traditional treatments using alum and PAC typically yield only 60% water recovery and re-use. By increasing overall water reclamation and recycling efficiency, the environmental operator will reduce hazardous waste haul-off and disposal expenses, thereby increasing the value of wastewater treatment using LMF-3001 and increasing profits.
 
LMF-3001 is engineered to work on greater than 90% of wastewaters from oil & gas drilling operations, making it the "go-to" solution for environmental operators. Because LMF-3001 works on such a variety of drilling wastewaters and is not site-specific like traditional chemicals used in the industry, the environmental operator can simplify the process and reduce the time it takes to prescribe solutions specific to each new job. This produces a number of benefits, such as trimming chemical inventory, reducing the time it takes to run laboratory testing and jar testing, and limiting the overall variability in water reclamation and re-use caused by shifting environmental conditions in the field.
 
It is common that wastewater generated from oil & gas operations is high in corrosive ions, such as chlorides, sulfates and other TDS. LMF-3001 has demonstrated the benefit of anti-corrosive properties to combat the undesirable affects of these ions on a range of carbon-steels used in the oil & gas industry. Third party testing has verified these anti-corrosive properties, and it has been determined that oil & gas wastewater treated with LMF-3001 is less corrosive to 1000-5000 series carbon-steels than oil & gas wastewater without LMF-3001.
